“I have a lot of admiration for and feel much gratitude toward the Auxiliary, as do all the hospital staff. The Auxiliary’s support and commitment to the Hawarden Regional Healthcare is truly an act of love and civic pride. They touch the lives of nearly every patient seeking care at the hospital today through their various contributions.”

Auxiliary
The Hawarden Regional Healthcare Auxiliary is one of the largest and most supportive Auxiliaries in the state. Members volunteer at the hospital and in the Auxiliary Thrift Shop and serve in various capacities on the board.
The Auxiliary Thrift Shop is located in downtown Hawarden and in 2011 expanded their space for more storage and bigger display areas. The Thrift Shop is staffed by all volunteers. The volunteers sort through all the donations to label and price each item before they are put on the shelves to be sold.
Along with the Thrift Shop, the auxiliary hosts an annual Salad Luncheon, helps with the blood bank every other month, and gives out a scholarship to two qualifying high school seniors, annually.
