CT Scan Services

Computed Tomography (CT); sometimes called CAT scan, uses special x-ray equipment to obtain images from different angles around the body, and then uses computer processing to demonstrate a cross-section of body tissues and organs. CT imaging is particularly useful for visualizing several types of tissue — bone, soft tissue, and blood vessels — with great clarity.

Hawarden Regional Healthcare is home to a 160-slice CT scanner, one of the most sophisticated scanners in the Midwest. Computed Tomography (CT) uses special x-ray equipment to obtain images from different angles around the body. A computer processes the images to demonstrate a cross-section of body tissues and organs. Higher slices increase the diagnostic capabilities of the scanner, resulting in clearer images and lower dose of radiation.
