Driving Program
Hawarden Regional Healthcare is now offering Driving Rehabilitation Services! We are the only location in Sioux County to offer this service.
If you or a loved one are noticing any of these changes or characteristics, a driving evaluation may be beneficial: slower reaction time, slower attention span, lagging reflexes, stiff joints or weak muscles, poor or changing vision, hearing problems, reduced memory or forgetfulness, physical impairments, increased accidents or near misses, recent medical events, frequent falls. Our driving rehab specialist is skilled at identifying and training drivers in the use of adaptive equipment for driving including hand controls, left foot accelerator and steering devices. Adaptive equipment training involves the comprehensive driving evaluation, individualized training, equipment prescription, and fitting to ensure equipment works in your personal vehicle. To participate, you will need a valid driver's license and an order from your doctor. If you do not have a valid license or have questions, give us a call for assistance.
